| Runs but drum doesn't turn | Broken or worn drive belt, or a failed drive motor. |
| Long dry times | Restricted exhaust venting, a clogged lint path, or a failing moisture sensor. |
| Loud thumping or squealing | Worn drum support rollers or glides, or a worn idler pulley. |
| Won't start | Door switch fault, thermal fuse trip, or a control-board fault. |
| Burning smell | Lint accumulation near the heat source or a failing heating element — treat as a priority safety issue. |
Venting matters

Gas dryers
Gas supply, igniter, and valve components are diagnosed with the appropriate safety precautions. If you smell gas, shut off the supply and contact your gas utility before requesting appliance service.
